ALL-TIME BEST 10 EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND EPISODES

Everybody Loves Raymond was one of the funniest shows of all-time. It had countless episodes that were unforgettable and laugh-out-loud funny . Narrowing it down to only 10 was quite the chore, but we did it!

The ALL-TIME BEST 10 EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND EPISODES!

10. “The Bird”-Season 8

A turf war breaks out between the Barones and the MacDougalls on Thanksgiving, due to the handling of an injured bird. Probably the highlight of this one, is the epic standoff between Raymond and Chris Elliott regarding who is going to play Squanto in the family Thanksgiving pageant.

9. “No Fat”-Season 3

Marie gets the bright idea that the family needs to eat better…which they probably actually do. So, she decides that the best time to start her clan on a new diet is Thanksgiving, preparing a tofu turkey. The characters’ reactions, especially Frank’s, to the jiggling mass of tofu are priceless and good for dozens of laughs.

8. “Robert’s Rodeo”-Season 4

Poor Robert, he never wins and is always the focus of others’ ridicule. It doesn’t helped that he has a massive inferiority complex, or in the case of this episode, is gored in the ass by a bull. Before we get to actually see the video of the bull chasing him down the street, imagination is all the viewer needs to spit-up their Ovaltine…or Roundtine.

7. “The Toaster”-Season 3

We all know somebody in our lives who is impossible to buy for. You can’t help but suspect that they either take your gifts back or re-gift them. For Raymond, these people are his loving parents who took back a customized toaster he had given them for Christmas. Of course, hilarity ensues with Frank and Marie getting much more than they bargained for.

6. “Frank Paints the House”-Season 5

Peter Boyle was truly a one-of-a-kind talent. He’s amazing throughout the entire series, but really seems to shine in this episode. As the title suggests, Frank paints Ray and Debra’s house, but Ray objects to the color. So Frank, being the compromiser he is, gives Ray an ultimatum. The final scene is one of the better endings to an Everybody Loves Raymond episode…so no spoilers here.

5. “The Angry Family”-Season 6

Ray and Debra’s son, Michael, writes a pretty honest account of the family’s  interactions and dynamics. Said story gets back to Father Hubley (Charles Durning) and the family is called-in for a counseling session. Their ill-conceived attempt to present themselves as a model family goes awry and they are left to confront their dysfunctional reality. Durning is hilarious in this one.

4. “Marie’s Sculpture”-Season 6

This was one of the racier episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond.  See, Marie takes an art class and makes a sculpture that looks like…well…maybe a…you’ll see. Anyways, the majority of the episode deals with the sculpture and its appropriateness for viewing at the Barone household.

3. “Wallpaper”-Season 5

Frank and Marie take the “pop-in” to new heights in this one. Among the best elements of this episode, and the series in general, is the conflict between Ray/Debra and Frank/Marie. This always led to comedic gold, especially when Robert would get involved. It’s in episodes like this, that you can really see the cast’s immense talent and versatility.

2. “Halloween Candy”-Season 3

I’m not going to give away much of the premise of “Halloween Candy,” as it would spoil the hilarious pay-off. I will say this adults, always be extremely cognizant of what you’re handing out to Trick-Or-Treaters. Myself, I keep it pretty simple…a pack of Ballpark franks, two packs of Sweet ‘N Low, and autographed 8X10’s of Steve Guttenberg. If you’re a vegetarian or hated Police Academy…too freaking bad.

1. “Traffic School”-Season 2

When Robert feels neglected by his family, he decides that it’s best to expressive his anger, passive-aggressively, through a dummy. Nope, not cousin Gerard…an actual ventriloquist dummy. Well, the episode is hilarious from start to finish, especially when Frank and the aforementioned dummy get into an argument. I won’t spoil the ending for you, but Frank gets the last laugh.
