The first and best James Bond has seemingly called it a day as an actor. What a career it has been? Connery has played a number of iconic roles aside from 007. The acting great has left behind a legendary career and many memorable moments.
Nicholson is one of the greatest actors in cinema history. From the Joker to Frank Costello, Jack has done it all and even left us with several memorable awards show moments. It really appears as though Nicholson has hung it up, but one more huge role would be excellent.
Moranis has been an excellent character actor who has really found his stride in comedy films. His best was probably “Ghostbusters,” but “Little Shop of Horrors” was his breakout role. Moranis has been away from acting for a while, so a return is not probable.
Fonda has always been an incredibly talented actress, but has been relatively selective with the parts she takes. Fonda has made very few appearances after the year 2000, but the ones she has have been memorable. She’s all but done now.
Poitier hung up his acting boots several years ago, but still stands as one of the best living actors. Sidney’s many portrayals are legendary, but we’re not likely to see him on screen again.
Wilder was always an extremely underrated comedic actor. He’s been out of the game for some time, but “Young Frankenstein” and “Blazing Saddles” are legendary enough.
Pesci is one of the best actors of the last 25 years. Unfortunately for him, he may have burned himself out in the mid-1990’s when he was in nearly every movie. No seriously, look it up. Pesci makes rare appearances nowadays, and the ones he does make seem pretty random.
Franz was never a huge film star outside of a memorable role in “Die Hard 2.” Dennis Franz was best-known for his masterwork in “NYPD Blue”. Franz has rarely acted in the past few years and may be done altogether.
Hackman is an all-time great and is one of the first actors to make a pretty big deal out of his retirement. The star of “The French Connection” was never one we figured to stay in the game longer than he had to, but we’d love to see him on screen one more time.
Hawn was a movie fixture in the 1980’s and 1990’s, but seemed to have called it a day in the new millennium. Goldie’s always been an extremely underrated talent who’s been typecast way too often.
